Hiroko Kusuhara (Hiro)

Since childhood Hiroko studied traditional Japanese dance and later on she also experienced ballet and rhythmic gymnastics.

She has been introduced to the method of Ashtanga Yoga by a friend in 2004. The practice resonated deeply in her and became a dedicated yoga student.

In 2009 Hiroko completed the UNDER THE LIGHT YOGA SCHOOL (UTL) Teacher Training Course. During that year she organized with other students and launched their Yoga project team "high 5 yoga”.

Since March 2009 she started her daily morning Ashtanga Yoga practice at Kranti’s Mysore Class (KMC). Kranti is KPJAYI Mysore Certified Ashtanga Teacher and Hiroko continues to study under his guidance. She is daily assisting her teacher in the Shala and substitute teaching in KMC when Kranti is traveling.

Hiroko Kusuhara is also teaching assistant and lecturer at the UTL YOGA SCHOOL Teacher Training Course.

Every year she is teaching in the largest yoga and lifestyle event "Organic Life Tokyo".

Hiroko is an active model for “tejas” yogawear brand and major publications including "YOGA Pose Encyclopedia” issued in May 2015 by Narumido Publishing.

A dedicated Ashtanga yoga practitioner and teacher, in 2012 she started her visits to study with her Guru Sharath Jois. She has already returned to the source of Ashtanga Yoga at KPJAYI (SYC)Mysore(Karnataka state, South India) in 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018.

Hiroko Kusuhara is dedicated to her daily practice and ever evolving teaching experience. She is currently holding the following internationally recognized Yoga teacher credentials:

- 2009 Yoga Alliance Certification (RYT 200)

- 2016 Yoga Alliance Certification (RYT 500)

- 2018 KPJAYI Mysore Authorized level 2

-2019 Yoga Alliance Certification (E-RYT500)
